Spark Energy Drink

Energy drinks are becoming more and more popular, especially with young adults. There are no health risks associated with the drinking energy drinks, especially if excessive amounts are consumed or mixed with alcohol.
The highly competitive market, says its products consumption are ways to provide:
- Increased alertness
- Increased athletic performance
- And many other great promises
All these claims have made people, especially the younger generation; flooding of the grocery stores for this type of fashion "high power" elixirs.
Some manufacturers keep adding concentrations higher levels of caffeine in dangerous and even call their drinks of names associated with the drug. pump manufacturers use names are "Monster" or "spark" to attract people to drink in their brands. Consumers should be aware that everything is a marketing strategy around the controversy instead of focusing on what the product is. There is a drink called "cocaine". These are ways to attract manufacturers to consumers to buy a can very expensive high caffeine test.
What is actually in these energy drinks?
- Caffeine is the most active ingredient in these drinks
- Red Bull contains 80 mg of caffeine
- A single serving of Cocaine Energy Drink contains 280 mg of caffeine
- The amount of caffeine is also exclusive of the herb Guarana, which adds an additional 40 mg of caffeine, which encompasses a total of 320 mg of caffeine in one serving of 8.4 oz of the mark Cocaine
Many of the leading brands but not all contain:
- Of syrup, high fructose corn – Sugar
- Taurine – An amino acid may be a mild inhibitory neurotransmitter used to level the other stimulants
- Guarana – used to increase alertness and energy and contains caffeine
- Vitamins – to help convert sugar into energy
- Glucuronolactone – added to fight fatigue and provide a sense of wellbeing, however, no major studies have been conducted to determine the long-term effects in the body
The average daily consumption of caffeine in adults is 200 mg / day based on 2001 statistics. That number has certainly increased significantly in 2008 to the date of writing this article. There are a lot of people who consume caffeinated beverages, and what's the concern about caffeine in energy drinks?
It seems that the ingredients are added in high doses. For example:
- Taurine is an amino acid found in most meat and dairy products. sources consumed dose food can be about 35 mg. Red Bull contains 1000 mg but not in the package. There have been done to determine what type of effect of high levels of taurine can have on the body, especially when mixed with other substances such as caffeine. Research suggests staying on the side of caution and not consume such a high level of Taurine.
- Research suggests that high-dose levels of the other ingredients of caffeine and sugar may not be significant enough to have any effect than a placebo effect, however, there are still concerns with what can happen with long-term use.
In addition, for those who consume energy drinks loaded with caffeine, without reducing their regular caffeine intake from other sources have a higher risk of developing what called "caffeine." This is caused by toxic levels of caffeine and the symptoms are:
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Indigestion
- Irregular heartbeat
- Irregular breathing
- Dizziness
- Nervousness
- Frequent urination
There are other side effects that may include:
- The weakening of the bones
- Pregnant women are at increased risk of miscarriage
The researchers suggest that caffeinism occurs more often with people that energy drinks among consumers for the time and volume ingested caffeine. most people who drink hot coffee, do it slowly and over several minutes (10 to 30) while drinking energy drinks are much faster, and the consumption of more than the consumption of hot coffee or regular teas that contain caffeine.
The real danger
- Mixing energy drinks with alcohol
Since caffeine is a stimulant and alcohol is a depressant, mixing the two can be very dangerous. reasons:
- The stimulant effects of energy drink may mask what are becoming intoxicated and prevents him from realizing how much alcohol you have consumed. His blood alcohol concentration may be higher levels of legal and health, leading to a very dangerous situation.
- If the stimulant how to prevent it from being affected from the depressant alcohol, you do not know what that is impaired to the stimulant wears off, which can cause severe vomiting and extremely dangerous if you are sleeping causing choking on his own vomit.
- Both alcohol and caffeine are very dehydrating the body. Dehydration can hinder the body's ability to metabolize alcohol in their system, thus increasing toxicity and have a much higher hangover the next day, which is actually the least of your problems if the experiment with the mixture of energy drinks with alcohol.
In reality, it would be much better:
· Grab a handful of walnuts, almonds or pumpkin seeds and a huge glass of water to increase their state alertness or energy.
· Another option would be to consume a protein source like a tuna sandwich or roast beef, boiled egg, or even a protein shake.
· Protein has been shown to increase brain chemistry that provides energy and alertness, so it makes a big choice, intelligent and healthy.
Get extra sleep and rest ·
· Have a good look at your exercise routine and eating habits all
· Or meet with a qualified professional to help you assess your situation
